Hashimoto’s Disease
Common Causes of Hashimoto’s Disease
Because Hashimoto’s disease is an autoimmune disorder, it’s difficult to know exactly what has caused it. However, most experts believe it can be caused by genetics, stress, infection, or a combination of these factors.
Common causes of Hashimoto’s autoimmune disease include:
- Food sensitivities (gluten is a major culprit)
- Intestinal permeability (leaky gut)
- Chronic infections
- Stress
- Toxins
- Nutrient deficiencies
- Cortisol imbalances
How We Treat It
Treatment includes diagnosing the root causes of your Hashimoto’s disease, which may include micronutrient testing, gut testing, and cortisol testing. In some cases, we prescribe thyroid hormones, if necessary.
At the Dynamic Life Health Center, we have helped hundreds of people uncover their autoimmune diseases and treat the underlying causes, resulting in greatly reduced symptoms. We identify and manage thyroid health to optimal levels, so you can feel good again.
Hypothyroidism
What Is Hypothyroidism?
When your thyroid is not working as it should, your body is not producing enough hormones to maintain proper functioning. This can lead to many adverse health conditions:
- Cold sensitivity
- Dry skin
- Hair loss
- Anger/irritability
- Joint pain
- Slowed heart rate
- Swelling
- Weight gain

How We Treat It
We treat hypothyroidism with a functional medicine approach. We order an in-depth thyroid panel—TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies. We measure four nutrient deficiencies—selenium, iron, zinc, iodine, and vitamin D. We address gut imbalances, cortisol issues, and optimize nutrition.
If indicated, we prescribe all types of thyroid medications, including compounded versions of thyroid replacement therapy.
Treatment Approach
Comprehensive Testing, In-Depth Treatment
Our diagnostic process will help both you and your provider understand your thyroid problems so you can get the best care possible. By identifying the root cause of your imbalances, we can reduce fatigue, weight gain, and even depression.
Your initial visit will include a consultation between you and one of our providers. We will discuss your symptoms and goals before scheduling diagnostic testing. After your testing is complete, your personalized treatment will begin.
Your treatment plan, tailored specifically for you, can range from diet and lifestyle changes as well as thyroid prescription medication, if indicated.
