Overview
How Chemical Exfoliation Works
Chemical peels treat skin that appears dull, flaky, and textured due to a buildup of dead skin cells. Providing your skin with a professional chemical peel in Southlake is one of the best ways to revive its appearance.
To achieve a more youthful and vibrant complexion, it is important to regularly exfoliate and allow your skin to renew itself. Chemical peels in Southlake remove dead skin cells, resulting in rejuvenated and beautiful skin
Benefits of Chemical Peels
- Smoother Skin: If you are struggling with skin texture concerns, schedule a chemical peel which can even out skin texture and smooth fine lines and wrinkles.
- Better Product Application: Both skincare and makeup products often have improved absorption into your skin after you have experienced a chemical peel.
- Younger Look: Wrinkles and fine lines are also treatable with a series of peels, depending on their severity. Feel and look radiant again with our chemical peels.
How it Works
Factors to Consider When Getting a Chemical Peel
Frequency
The frequency of chemical peels depends on your skin type, your skin goals, and the type of peel utilized.
Superficial Peels
They’re best for treating mild acne, dull skin, fine lines, and uneven texture.
Medium Peels
These are best for treating hyperpigmentation, acne scars, deeper wrinkles, and sun-damaged skin.
Comfort During Treatment
Medium peels may cause more discomfort than superficial peels, but you should never feel acute pain. Our team will talk with you before any treatment so that you know exactly what to expect.
Recovery Timeline
Depending on what peel is recommended for you and your skin type, healing time will vary. Your provider will discuss healing times with you.

Though each patient will be on a unique journey with chemical peels in Southlake, there are steps you can take to make your treatment and recovery smoother.
Preparing for Chemical Peels
- Let us know if you have a history of mouth sores or oral herpes before your treatment. We may suggest taking an antiviral medication prior to your treatment.
- For seven (7) days prior to your treatment, do not use anti-inflammatory / blood thinners. This includes aspirin, Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve, Vitamin E, fish oil, and St. John’s Wort.
- Avoid topical skin products such as tretinoin (Retin-A), retinol, retinoids, glycolic acid, or alpha-hydroxy acid or any anti-aging products for at least seven (7) days before treatment.
- No waxing or laser treatments seven (7) prior to treatment.
- Abstain from alcohol, tobacco products, and excessive caffeine for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
- Be sure to discuss all your medications, supplements, and medical conditions with your provider prior to your appointment.
- Stay out of the sun, if possible, as that can significantly irritate or damage your skin.
Aftercare for Chemical Peels
- Continue avoiding sun exposure. Over the next few days, if you must go out in the sun, wear sunscreen.
- For 48 hours after treatment, do not use anti-inflammatory / blood thinners. This includes aspirin, Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve, Vitamin E, fish oil, and St. John’s Wort.
- Keep your skincare routine limited to soothing products only, or as directed by your provider. Stay away from harsh chemicals and exfoliators.
- Based on your unique aesthetic goals, we may have extra instructions for you to follow.
