BHRT vs. HRT
The Advantage of BHRT
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) differ in their source, formula, and how they interact with the body.
Traditional HRT uses synthetic or animal-derived hormones that are similar—but not identical—to those your body naturally produces. People have treated menopause symptoms with these hormones for decades. While it can work effectively, traditional HRT can sometimes lead to unwanted side effects because of its structural differences from the body’s natural hormones.
BHRT, on the other hand, uses bioidentical hormone pellets that are chemically identical to hormones naturally produced by the human body. These hormones, including bioidentical estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, derive from plant sources such as yams and soy. We custom-compound pellets to match each patient’s specific needs. Because BHRT mimics the body’s natural hormones, patients generally tolerate it better, and it offers a more personal approach.
At Dynamic Life Health Center, we prioritize individualized care with BHRT, offering bioidentical hormone pellet therapy in Southlake, along with oral medication, creams, patches, triturates, and injections—all with the goal of achieving optimal hormonal balance and long-term well-being.

Benefits of BHRT
Benefits of Pellet Therapy
While pellet therapy has recently grown in popularity, practitioners have actually used this treatment for almost 70 years. Of course, both the medications and the administration methods have evolved considerably over time to meet the needs of patients!
We insert pellets every 3 to 4 months for women and every 5 to 6 months for men. Once placed, pellets dissolve naturally over that period of time, releasing a steady dose of hormones over the pellet’s life.
Pellets are ideal for people on the go, those who travel a lot, or patients who simply don’t want to take hormones every day. As another advantage, your tissues can directly absorb hormones released from pellets—they do not have to go through your digestive system for processing. After insertion, you usually begin to experience relief from your hormonal symptoms within three weeks.
Pellets have no one-size-fits-all dosage; we compound each specifically for you based on your lab results and symptoms. Since each pellet is only about the size of a Tic-Tac, we insert it into the hip/buttocks area under a local anesthetic. The procedure only takes about 20 to 30 minutes. You may feel some slight tenderness after the anesthetic wears off. We do recommend that women avoid strenuous activity for 2 days and men for 7 days to minimize the chances of dislodging the pellet.
