Treatment Overview
Learn More About PRP
Platelet-rich plasma is a substance that is derived from your own blood. After your provider takes your sample, they place it into a centrifuge. This machine separates your blood from the plasma within, which contains platelets that are key to your healing and growth cycles. Plasma-based treatments have been shown to increase hair growth rates more efficiently than other methods because your body already knows how to respond to them.
PRP can also be used to enhance other aspects of wellness. Just like hormones, which can also be naturally derived, these treatments are able to help with joint pain and other aging-related symptoms. Regardless of whether you are seeking out immediate aesthetic care or are simply hoping to protect yourself against aging, DLHC has your back.
If you are experiencing sparseness or even bald spots, getting hair restoration in Southlake is a great first step toward getting your full head of hair back. We also recommend that those with a family history of thinning or baldness come in for preventative treatment.
Microneedling With PRP for Hair Loss (Coming Soon)
DLHC will be expanding its hair restoration offerings to include microneedling with PRP. This advanced treatment combines 2 clinically supported techniques to further stimulate formant hair follicles and encourage thicker, healthier growth. As with all our services, microneedling with PRP will be carefully integrated into our treatment plans and customized based on individual goals and hair loss patterns.
We encourage any of our patients who are interested in future availability to speak with our team during their consultation to learn whether PRP with microneedling may be right for them once it becomes available.
How it Works
PRP Hair Restoration in Southlake
Every treatment at DLHC begins with a meeting between you and one of our staff members. We will discuss your current health, what your goals are, and the state of your hair growth. If we believe you are a suitable candidate for PRP hair restoration in Southlake, we will schedule your treatment sessions.
When you arrive for your first hair restoration appointment, our team will be here to get you more familiar with how the treatment works. Your provider will show you the applicator as well as the locations on your face or body where the needles will be inserted. Then you can relax in one of our comfortable treatment rooms.
Once we have scheduled any follow-ups you will need, you can go about your day with minimal downtime. You may return to your routines as normal!
What it Treats
As the applicator creates tiny holes along your scalp, your provider reintroduces the PRP samples we have taken to boost your healing mechanisms. As the cells beneath your skin’s surface grow back healthier, so do your hair follicles. This process can help with:
- Hair loss
- Thinning hair
- Sparseness
- Future hair concerns
- Uneven hairline
Benefits
- Convenient. No need to worry about the downtime that comes with more invasive methods. Our hair restoration in Southlake is efficient!
- Natural. Since PRP works alongside your body’s natural mechanisms, you can be confident knowing that your results are naturally derived.
- Complementary. You can use this treatment in conjunction with others, ensuring that you get the best hair growth outcomes possible.

Preparing for Hair Restoration
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and tobacco products for at least 3 days prior to your visit.
- Steer clear of blood thinners and beta-blockers leading up to your treatment.
- Stay hydrated and eat a full meal before you arrive for your appointment.
Aftercare for Hair Restoration
- Do not get your hair wet for 3 hours after treatment.
- Do not shampoo your hair for 6 hours. Once those 6 hours have passed, use a pH-balancing shampoo.
- Avoid rubbing or otherwise touching your scalp.
- If you need pain relief, do not take medications that are anti-inflammatory, such as ibuprofen or aspirin.
- Avoid heat if possible for a few days, including sunbathing, strenuous workouts, and saunas.
- Continue abstaining from alcohol, caffeine, and tobacco for 3 more days.
Your Results
Results tend to vary based on your unique hair cycle, as well as underlying factors that can influence their growth. This can include hormone balance. In many patients, hair loss is linked to hormonal shifts, such as excess testosterone or other hormone levels that are too low to properly support the hair growth cycle.
Typically, results can be seen after around 3 to 4 weeks, once your growth cycle has been completed. As treatment continues and the scalp environment continues to improve, hair follicles are better supported for long-term regrowth.
After your treatments, you can expect your results to improve over roughly 3 months. After that, you can continue to enjoy your hair regrowth. When you will need to come back for more treatment varies by patient, but we can help you monitor your progress.
